TestLink Announces Unique Cash Cassette Track and Trace Service

 Nov 2007

In addition to their three tiered cash cassette repair, test, clean and reconfiguration services, TestLink are pleased to add the unique Track and Trace service solution.

Typically each ATM that is CIT attended will have a spare set of cash cassettes held in the depot ready for replenishment. With each cassette often costing well in excess of $100, the total value of inventory deployed across multiple ATMs and multiple depots, soon grows to a very considerable sum. Apart from the individual Financial Institutions (FIs) denomination labels, cash cassettes may be quite anonymous and confusion with another deployers inventory is not unknown.

To protect against migration due to anonymity and to ensure damaged cassettes are identified, recovered, repaired and replaced ensuring constant availability, TestLink offer a means of applying a unique identity to each cassette and a low overhead process to track its passage from, and back into, the CIT depot. As an option, the Deployer may wish to have the CIT use TestLink's automatic Cassette Function and Configuration Tester (CFCT), capable of ensuring each cassettes operation and set-up is correct, eliminating this as a cause of incorrect cash dispensing. The automatic tester also has means for the operator to identify the cassette as being physically damaged.

Once each cassette is uniquely identified and the condition is being monitored, TestLink offer the service of automatically logging cash cassettes passage through each CIT depot, and monitoring their movement and condition on a centralised tracking tool known as Track and Trace.

Track and Trace provides web enabled reports to the Deployer showing frequency of cassette turns, number of damaged cassettes, lost cassettes, and replacement cassettes despatched. The statistical analysis of this information might be used to understand any damage 'high-spots' or low use profiles, allowing the Deployer to drive efficient utilisation of their cassette estate.
