• If you are looking long term and are not in a rush to install ATMs, Through the Wall ATMs may be appropriate for you. These take longer to install as they may require planning permission, construction work and higher levels of security while installation is in progress. Through the Wall generally do also benefit from greater functionality.

• Through the Wall ATMs tend to be extremely robust and thus threats of ramming are at a smaller scale. However, as the ATMs are outside there is more threat of card skimming scams. There is also risk of damage being caused to the front of the ATM. Educating customers about shielding pin numbers and looking out for card skimming devices is always recommended and many ATMs now have tamperproof card readers as standard.

• If you wish your ATM to be available 24/7 you will almost certainly need to choose the "Through The Wall" ATM option.
