Launch of the Year?

Launch of the Year

Earlier this week saw an event that many of us here at TestLink believe could, quite simply, have been the launch of the year!

The upgraded artefact’s big reveal saw us inspired by…

  • Enhanced accessibility features
  • A cleaner and more durable design
  • Greatly improved security features
  • An expectation that it’ll last at least 2.5 times longer than its previous version.

And whilst it’s a vast improvement on its former self in terms of quality, counterfeit prevention and general resilience, it’d make a rubbish phone.

(You didn’t ‘siri-ously’ think we were talking about the new iPhone launch did you?)

£10 Polymer Specimen

We’re of course referring to the announcement that the new polymer £10 note has now officially entered circulation.

The new notes see a welcome return to a woman (Jane Austen) taking centre stage design-wise, following a 4 month period where no women, other than the Queen, have appeared on any bank notes after Winston Churchill replaced social reformer, Elizabeth Fry on the £5 note in 2016.

From an ATM perspective, these new notes may require a reconfiguration of cassettes as well as the installation of some new parts or components and there has been criticism levied at some financial institutions for not having polymer-ready ATM’s yet.

There’s certainly an appetite from the public for being one of the first to get their hands on it. It’s even led to the media releasing location guides on which ATM’s to visit to get your hands on the note.

At TestLink, our team have been dynamically preparing for polymer for months on end, working with a number of leading financial institutions to get them ready (many of whom can be seen on those (‘Where to Get the New £10 Notes’ guides).

If your estate has not yet been prepped and made ready for receipt of the new £10 then feel free to get in touch. We’re able to get you adapted quickly and economically so that your machines are all set to dispense those shiny new Jane Austen's in no time at all!
