Objective
The Buyer is a key part of the Purchasing and Supply Chain Team
The Buyer will be responsible for the day-to-day sourcing, procurement and timely delivery of the materials and services needs of the TestLink organisation.
The Buyer with have ownership of key project work, liaising with a cross functional team to achieve company targets.
This role will involve the management and development of existing suppliers along with the ability to identify new suppliers of goods and services as dictated by the business needs of the organisation.
The Buyer will have responsibility for delivering improvements in productivity, quality, processes and systems through new initiatives and best practices. Ownership of supplier scorecard for Key suppliers.
The Buyer will have commercial ownership of supplier contracts, ensuring contracts are set up with Key suppliers.
Key Duties
- Sourcing ATM’s and parts, developing relationships within the Banks and Financial Institutions and wider supply chain.
- Ownership of scheduling parts for ATM build, working closely with production and customer delivery team to ensure parts are sourced on time to schedule.
- Working in conjunction with Supply Chain Manager and Senior Buyer manage supplier negotiations.
- Achieve targeted cost savings within the buying element of purchasing
- Work closely with account managers to ensure delivery schedules are met.
- Manage supplier negotiations in line with purchasing strategy
- Sourcing new suppliers for part demands and increasing inventory portfolio.
- Ensure all supplier quality issues are reviewed and actioned within agreed timeframe.
- Build strong relationships with Banks and other Financial Institutions
- To manage supplier performance, identifying and troubleshooting quality and delivery issues.
- To identify areas of improvement within the Purchasing department processes to promote more efficient and smarter working.
Qualifications:
The Buyer must possess a proven track record in sourcing parts and equipment.
Skilled at all key areas of purchasing, supplier management and negotiation.
Excellent communicator, written and verbal.
Strong organisational and analytical skills.
Motivated with a structured and logical approach to problem solving
Confident when dealing with people at all levels both internal and external to the organisation.
